Dan's Webcomic Project - Bert the Beaver

If you are wondering why this comic/graphic novel cover is doing beside the X-men Origins: Wolverine trailer this tells the tale of Wolverine's childhood and you find out his true name "James Howlett".  Hugh Jackman takes on the role of Logan/Wolverine once again.  Liev Schreiber takes on the role of Victor Creed/Sabretooth whose mutation continues to alter him making him larger and more beast like through the years.  The storyline takes place before the first X-men movie and if the movie sticks to the Wolverine Origin storyline you find out that Wolverine is over one hundred years old.  X-men Origins obviously covers the Weapon X program which gave Wolverine his adamantium laced skeleton and razor sharp claws (actually bone claws developed through Logan's mutation and laced with adamantium).  There will be appearances by Marvel characters like the Blob, Gambit, and Deadpool as well as others.  X-men Origins: Wolverine will be out by May 01, 2009.

Wolverine(James Howlett)-Marvel Universe

To be honest I have never read the Watchmen limited series graphic novel, but now I wish I had and feel that I missed out.  The list of characters in the Watchmen movie is; the Comedian a.k.a. Edward Morgan Blake wears a smiley face button, Doctor Manhattan a.k.a. John Osterman a glowing blue superhuman, Night Owl(II) a.k.a. Dan Dreiberg wears a costume with a slight resemblance to the Batman costume, Ozymandias a.k.a. Adrian Veidt, Rorschach a.k.a. Walter Kovacs waers an ink blot mask with a shifting pattern, and Silk Specter (II) a.k.a. Laurie Juspeczyk.  Superheroes/costumed vigilantes are outlawed so they either retire or end up working for the government, except for Rorschach.  Rorschach continues being a costumed vigilante and becomes continually more paranoid and kinda crazy.  I am definitely going to buy the the Watchmen graphic novel (twelve issues worth) to add to my collection and to read.  I will also go to see the Watchmen movie which is out in March 06, 2009.

This is such an excellent trailer and the music is so good.  This is a feature length film of 9 which was originally an animated short by Shane Acker and all human life is gone but there is hope in the form of these living puppet creatures.  I really don't know much more than that about the storyline.  Produced by Tim Burton and has the voice talents of Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Landau, and Cristopher Plummer.  Please watch the animated short below to see the visual of the movie but they do not speak in the animated short.

I am sad to say that Kate Beckinsale is not in Underworld Rise of the Lycans and that makes sense because this movie is a prequel.  The Underworld Rise of the Lycans storyline takes place about two hundred years before Kate Beckinsale's character, Selene, was ever made vampire and about eight hundred years before the first Underworld movie.  In the first Underworld movie after Michael Corvin (Scott Speedman) was bit by Lucian (Michael Sheen) he recieved flashes of genetic memory.  In these memories Lucian and Sonja (played by Rhona Mitra in Rise of the Lycans) fell in love and were having a half Lycan half Vampire child.  The Lycans were the slaves of the Vampire and Viktor (Bill Nighy) who is Sonja's father has Sonja burned to death in the sun which starts the Lycan uprising.  This is how it was portrayed in the first Underworld movie but you know how tricky those genetic memories are!  Underworld Rise of the Lycans is in theatres January 23, 2009

Astroboy the movie, I have to admit that I thought the cartoon on T.V. was something I thought was pretty awsome as a kid.  Every episode was full of action and Astroboy always had to save Metro City and defeat some supersized menace, that I might point out the scientists always tell him that he can't possibly do it this time.  You wanted to cheer for Astroboy because going in he was always the underdog and even knowing that he could not succeed still had to do it to protect the people he cared about.  Yes I am the first to admit that the background singing is slightly annoying in the Astroboy television series but I did not care.  Astroboy is voiced by Freddie Highmore, Doctor Tenma is voiced by Nicolas Cage joined by a cast of other famous voices; Kristen Bell, Nathan Lane, Eugene Levy, Matt Lucas, Bill Nighy, and Donald Sutherland.  Astroboy the movie comes out October 23, 2009.
